Senior Back-End Engineer

As Senior Backend Engineer you will join our Software & Infrastructure team. You will work closely with our other engineering teams, which build the hardware, embedded software and controller for our heat pump, designing and implementing features across the entire stack. Our backend is built in NodeJS/Typescript, using MySQL and Redis, and OpenAPIspec for the API specification, connecting to the devices in the field over MQTT.

What you will do:

• Work on the backend of our apps and other interfaces, for customers, installers and internal teams.

• Connect to various (cloud) datasources and API’s and help us architect the best infrastructure.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements for backend and mobile applications.

• Integrate with databases, third-party APIs, libraries, and SDKs to enhance functionality and performance.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges.

• Work with testing to ensure application stability and reliability.

• Together with the team brainstorm ideas on how to improve our internal processes and help us grow.

What you will need:

• You want to make a positive impact on the world and fight climate change.

• You should have a Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Engineering) and 7+ years of experience in developing and deploying API’s in Node/Typescript.

• You understand web and mobile application architecture, including performance optimization and scalability.

• You have experience with integrating third-party APIs, libraries, and SDKs.

• You think about the whole end2end architecture, beyond the backend, in both the app and the rest of the architecture.

• You should possess strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges.

• You are committed to staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in full-stack development, and proactively sharing your knowledge with the team.

• You have a minimum fluency level of C1 in English.

• You do not require visa sponsorship to live and work in the Netherlands.
